Position: Backend Software Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate remotely with a globally distributed team to achieve project goals.
  • Write clean web service APIs to support CLI and web frontend clients, primarily using Python (Golang experience is a plus).
  • Designed and implemented new features and enhancements from specification to production, managing ongoing operations at scale.
  • Review code and technical designs produced by other engineers, providing constructive feedback.
  • Participate in discussions, collaborating to find effective solutions.
  • Work remotely with occasional global travel (2-4 weeks) for internal and external events.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in developing public-facing APIs and web applications using Python.
  • Strong backend development skills, preferring to work with backend code and infrastructure.
  • Proficient in working with relational and non-relational databases, with the ability to design efficient data models and optimize query performance.
  • Comfortable working on Ubuntu as both a development and deployment platform.
  • Demonstrated strong academic performance in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
  • Passionate about technology and enjoys collaborating with diverse, talented team members.
  • Key qualities: curiosity, flexibility, accountability, strong communication skills, and a proactive, self-motivated approach.
