Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with frontend developers to design and develop functional, robust APIs to meet internal and customer needs.
  • Write both unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasks.
  • Develop high-quality, well-documented, and efficient code.
  • Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud.
  • Optimize internal and external applications for performance and scalability.
  • Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, project managers, quality assurance teams, and other developers about progress on the technology roadmap.
  • Recommend system solutions by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of custom development versus purchased alternatives.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering.
  • Experience:
    • 0–2 years as a backend developer using common languages and frameworks (e.g., Java Spring Boot, NodeJS, Python).
    • Functional programming experience in Scala is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of database systems, with expertise in SQL and NoSQL stores (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Couchbase).
    • Experience writing and using RESTful API services and performance tuning large-scale apps.
    • Proficiency in NodeJS and TypeScript for backend development.
    • Familiarity with NestJS (optional but advantageous).
    • Integrating with JavaScript frameworks such as React and AngularJS is a plus.
    • Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming and engineering principles like SOLID.
    • Knowledge of immutable infrastructure, automation, and provisioning tools is a bonus.
  • Mindset and Attributes:
    • Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
    • Effective problem-solving skills to process and present complex information simply.
    • Collaborative mindset to work efficiently and create innovative solutions.
